Diwali—the “festival of lights” is the biggest festival in India, celebrated worldwide by every Indian. Like every year this year also we had a Diwali celebration in the office, for which the planning started a few days earlier. Every team member was excited for this day.
To celebrate Diwali and Dhanteras puja all the team gathered on 25 October 2019, it was a no workday. All team members were requested to come in traditional attire. Following the dress code, a saree or a churidar for the females and kurta pajama for the males. It was a regular office day with no office work but more fun and engaging activities. It was a teamwork effort and the entire staff contributed to it.
We started by decorating the office entrance with garlands, frills, flowers and other decorative items.
The office desk and wall decoration were done by the paper frills, thermocol items, paper lamps, etc. Each desk was decorated with flower garlands and Diya lights were also placed to enhance the festive mode.
Banners and stickers were incorporated with the mirror work ribbons. On the glass panel windows, colorful lights were installed with hanging lamps.
A colorful Rangoli was made at the front entrance using bright and vibrant colors. Rangoli is traditional folk art, adorned with floors during Festive seasons. Diyas and candles were used to decorate the rangoli
A small team lunch was arranged for the team members on the festive occasion.
In the evening arrangements began for the dhanteras puja with the lighting of Diyas. On Dhanteras we worship goddess Lakshmi and Lord Kuber, for good fortunes, thriving, satisfaction and well being.
Diwali celebration is the ideal event to offer a token of gratefulness and keep the spirits high by gifting something noteworthy and interesting. In the end, gifts and sweets were distributed to all team members.
Diwali is incomplete without the thundering and crackling sound of firecrackers. All of us enjoyed the fireworks and were left mesmerized.
Everyone enjoyed the day to the core and happiness. This “Diwali lets spread the magic of happiness to one and all!”
